A few months ago, my classmates and I had to chance to skype with Melanie Sumrow, author of Prophet Calls! We learned many fascinating information about Melanie Sumrow, including the fact that she used to be a lawyer before she became an author, that sounds similar to Elly Swartz. Melanie LOVES research, and the featured book, Prophet Calls, took her more research than writing. The groups of people shown in this book come from real people around Canada, Utah, and other places around the world. Melanie usually tries to weave real live details into her books, that way, they can also learn fascinating things while enjoying the book. If you've read Prophet Calls, do you remember the Santa Fe music festival? Did you know that there is actually a music festival called the Santa Fe music festival? I know, it's so cool! Now let's talk more about Gentry. Melanie always wanted Gentry to be a strong willed, passionate girl in a hard society. Overall, my skype with Melanie Sumrow was a total success!
